Partners Porirua celebrates its tenth Anniversary
The Prime Minister and Partners Porirua staff
The Prime Minister, the Honourable, John Key, launched Partners Porirua tenth year anniversary celebrating past and present contributors.
Over the past ten years the organization has achieved a great number of successes. Each year more than 20 school business partnership projects have been successfully completed and over 300 young people assisted into education, training or employment.
Dr Roger Blakeley (Chief Executive, PCC) spoke of Partners Porirua's first beginnings and success. He congratulated the trustees on their passion and dedication towards the community and he presented a Certificate of Acknowledge from Porirua City.
The Prime Minister and YTS young employee Logan Atkinson
Guest speakers included Youth Transition (YTS) young employees Danielle Tolley, Logan Atkinson and Sapati Ah-Kiong. They spoke of their experiences and said they have gained confidence and employment through the YTS service.
John Key was impressed by the presentation from the Bishop Viard College students about the environment. The project has helped them gain knowledge on how to minimise the waste at their school and support their environment.
Mayor, Jenny Brash, another key note speaker, congratulated Partners Porirua on their 10th birthday and hoped for another decade more to come.
